You just have to keep reminding yourself that the viewer doesn’t have those memories. As always, I find this tough: it’s hard to to throw out images when you have memories associated with every one of them. Now that I’m pretty sure I’ve settled on the ‘Simple’ style, back to the task of removing even more images.just a few spot-checks to see that it’s basically right. At this point I don’t even bother to watch it all the way through because I know I’m going to make more changes. But actually it’s very fast: at most a few minutes, most of which is spent checking how the muvee looks. The above few steps (the ones after I added the Title/Credits) sound a bit tedious.

The tips are useful when you’re learning how to get the best from Reveal, but they can be borderline naggy at times, so feel free to ignore them.

Note: these messages appear at the bottom of the Reveal window after you make a muvee: the software often gives suggestions for changes that it thinks might improve your muvee. As expected the pacing in ‘Simple’ *is* a bit different, so I go in and adjust the Pace and Music Response sliders again (see Part 1 of this tutorial) till all my photos and video are appearing and there’s no warning or tip message. This muvee has a lot of spectacular scenery and I don’t think fancy transitions are needed to enhance it. It’s even plainer than ‘Classic Vanilla’: only cuts and dissolves, no black or white transitions. I try the ‘Simple’ style, take a look at the preview and decide I like it.If I’m going to change style, it’s slightly better to do it now. Reason: each style has its own behaviour (such as its pacing, response to music, etc), so it can affect what exactly appears – for example how much of your video is chosen. So far I’ve been using ‘Classic Vanilla’, but if I’m going to change style I should do it now before I absolutely finalize the set of photos and other final tweaks. ěut before doing that I decide to try another style. And I still have a feeling that the muvee is a bit rushed – I’d like each image to be visible for a little longer - so I make a decision to reduce the number of photos. The photos I’ve chosen for the Title/Credits are ones that also appear in the body of the muvee, so now I can remove them. With titles/credits, it’s good to check them in full-screen view to make sure they’re both readable and visually appealing. I then click the full-screen button again to preview the muvee including its Title & Credits.

(Note: the fonts available depend on the version of Windows and other software you have installed on your PC they’re not part of Reveal.) A quirky font – Snap ITC - feels right for this one. I type in a title, “Trekking the W” (this popular trek is nicknamed the ‘W’), and choose a font for it. First I go to the Title tab, select Use image for the Background (lower right) and click the button beside to select an image. You access these by clicking the Personalize button.
